The best way to usher in a new fashion season is with clothes and accessories that are feminine, modern and extremely wearable.
This season, fashion differs dramatically from years past. For a start, the palette is softer.
“The colors are more muted with very natural embellishments,” said Laura McDowell, T.J. Maxx fashion spokesperson.
White is clearly a favorite, with neutrals a close second. When mixed with color, the look is softer and very contemporary. Try navy with white (for the everpopular nautical look), yellow, chocolate brown and oatmeal as complementary color tones. Graphic black and white combos look surprisingly fresh.
Perhaps the biggest options are spring’s array of pantsthey run the gamut from cropped, wide gauchos to Bermuda shortsskimmers. Also look for slender capris, long, slouchy trousers and highwaisted sailor pants. Feminine blouses are the ideal accompaniment Choose a billowing, Victorianstyle ruffled blouse, or the classic, alwaysinstyle button down. The little black dress has been replaced by “the little white dress,” with light, feminine detailing. Jackets are back. Look for cropped, fitted jackets, as well as militaryinspired styles very tailored with high necks. Today’s skirts are longer and feminine tulip shapes, bubble skirts and multitiered versions.
There’s no need to carry a tote or even a briefcase this season. Handbags are big enough to hold just about anything. Look for crossbody handles and extralarge satchels.
“Oversized is definitely in, but do consider your body shape and size,” advises McDowell.
Belts are also getting wider. Shoes are chunky with high heels, platform, espadrilles, peep toes and wedges. Vibrant turquoise, coral and amber jewelry add a healthy dose of color multistrand necklacesthe longer the betterare bold yet sophisticated. Five easy ways to update your wardrobe are
1. Something, anything white
2. A soft romantic skirt
3. At least one pair of cropped pants gauchos, capris or skimmers
4. A nautical accent striped shirt, macrame belt or wedge espadrilles
5. A great big handbag in supple Italian leather or summery straw

While there is no foolproof method of eluding thieves, the information below may help reduce the possibility of your becoming a victim
1. Before leaving the house, think about ways to protect yourself. Think about where you want to carry your money, credit cards and identification. Dont take valuable jewelry and watches with you. Separate valuables dont put all your money in one place.
2. Reduce the possibility of becoming a victim by securing valuables in a waist belt or pouch covered by a shirt sweater or coat. NEVER FLASH MONEY AROUND.
3. Dont make it easy for the thief dont carry large amounts of money in easily accessible jacket pockets or purses. Dont use a wallet. Use your front pants pockets and inside shirt pockets for your money and other valuables. Placing valuables in a purse around your neck or shoulder and secured inside a shirt sweater or jacket is a useful habit to get into. Waist packs are better than purses or handbags, but they should also be hidden under a shirt or coat.
4. Never advertise your intention to spend a large amount of money.
5. Avoid shopping alone. Awareness of your surroundings and advanced planning are your best weapons for defending against thieves.
6. Always be aware of your surroundings. Look at people near you and watch for “accidental” nudging and touching.
7. Do not carry anything in your wallet or purse that you are not willing to lose. Most shopping in Asia is done on a cash and carry basis leave unneeded credit cards and your passport in a safe place. Carry a photocopy of the ID portion of your passport. Your ID card and drivers license is replaceable family photographs and other personal items may not be as easy to replace. Remember, carry only what you are going to need for your outing.
The precautions listed above can help make you a harder target. Terrorists and criminals look for the easy target the path of least resistance. By making yourself a difficult target you can help ensure your own safety and that of your family. Please remember that thinking about what to do in an emergency is not as frightening as not knowing what to do when faced with an actual emergency.

Yes, its true! Yawarajutsu is one of the old Japanese martial arts. One of its facets includes the use of a short, sixinch plain stick to strike death and terror into the opponent.
The experts will claim that it is used to jab kyusho or Dim Mak points resulting in severe shock to the system. This is only partly true. One hits vulnerable areas, it is true, but these are not necessarily surface vital points. They overlie deep nerves or organs which, if hit effectively, result in shock and bodily collapse. The same effect (almost) as when a footballer is accidentally kicked in the groin.
The stick can be held as a hammer, smacking down into a surface bone like the wrist. Or it can be flicked in a backhand motion into say the teeth or the eye. Short and sharp somewhat like cracking a whip.
Probably its best use perhaps is holding at the middle, stabbing down like a knife into the neck or other target. Conversely it can stab upwards into the underjaw. If then it is ripped forwards it could hopefully dislocate the jaw.
A more skilled use is in comealong holds and bone or joint breaks. But this is advanced technical studies requiring much (much!) practice and training in a martial arts club. If you expect to be successful.
There is an American version developed by Frank Matsuyama. This version has metal spikes to hamper someone trying to wrench it away. I quite like it, but while it fits easily into the pocket, it is clearly a martial arts weapon, and as such leaves you wide open to police prosecution if use for self defence. An Internet search will take you directly to it. But the plain stick is safer and true to the Japanese yawarajutsu origins. The Matsuyama stick is metal, heavier and very effective, but advisedly should not be carried where you feel danger lies. Far better go elsewhere and so avoid killing someone and also avoid going to jail which you assuredly will if you use it.
His manual How To Use The Yawara Stick can be downloaded, but as it is written specifically for police officers who already have martial arts experience and as a substitute for their truncheon, it is not at all suitable for the novice. But if you are Blue Belt or higher, you will enjoy it.
The stick is said to have arisen from the knife fighting techniques of Tantojutsu, a segment of the overall Yawarajutsu wider school. In wet or sweaty conditions a knife could jam in its sheath, and techniques were of course developed to allow the defender to still use it in this inconvenient situation. Furthermore, yawarajutsu was less dangerous than actually stabbing someone. Remember that, Young Jimmie, when youre out with the lads! Dont carry a knife a Yawara stick is very effective and keeps you out of a prison life sentence
There have been several modern refinements on the basic Yawara approach. Notably in Matsuyamas stick, mentioned above, and Tak Kubotas little Kubotan . The Matsuyama stick (lump of metal!) is very good indeed, but too lethal. The Kubotan is all very well, but its too small and light for my needs. I dont see any advantage at all in carrying it. Not when the karatetsu can do all and much more. I have the Kubotan, but it stays in the cabinet.
Both the basic Yawara stick and the Matsuyama and Kubota versions suffer from the same basic fundamental defect they can be used as stabbing and chopping weapons, but they are not by their very nature suited to direct, thrusting strikes. The hand is physically not intended to jab forwards in a straight, punchlike direction. Not when it is holding a stick in a vertical alignment.
This is where the karatetsu scores supremely. It can deliver all types of Yawara attacks as well as physiologically correct forward, direct punching muggerdropping blows.
This in brackets while researching the subject I came across this interesting site httpwww.usagi.orgdoiyawarayawara.html Nothing to do with me but it might make fun reading. Take a look
But wait! This article is meant as an introduction to Yawarajutsu techniques. For interested sportsmen (alright, and women). But all the time giving you an effective selfdefence system while keeping you safely within the benevolent smile of the Law.
There are two things you need
1 A DOG. Or access to a friends dog. Either being walked by you. Or having made prior arrangement with a dog owner that you can at anytime of your choice go along and take Fido (Fido ughh!) out through the park at night for a stroll. Through the park or the woods (or anywhere where you were actually attacked by the mugger or wouldbe rapist and needed an excuse )
2 A SIXINCH LONG STIFF DOG CHEW. Buy two, keep one in a drawer, the other in your handbag when going out alone somewhere.
This is what its all about. The dog chew is a MOST effective substitute for an actual wooden, plastic or metal Yawara stick. Hard and solid, it can stab, thrust, jab, pierce eyeballs, tear up an unsuspecting groin (a mugger would NOT be unsuspecting!) But with no legal risk to you. You were not carrying a self defence weapon. You were walking, or going to walk, or coming back from walking a dog (liase with your friend) when you were attacked. When you beat up the unsuspecting yob. (Who is now trying to sue you for damages sustained). He did not see any weapon threat, you tucked it out of sight behind your buttock when you first sensed danger. Then WHACK!
Be sure to give Fido (Fido Ughh!) a pat when youve recovered from being a heroine!

Aside from shoes, bags are definitely the Achilles heel of every female homo sapien. Women go gaga over any kind of bag, and they even take pains in matching their bags with their shoes.
Buying a bag can be a major decision for every woman even though she may already have a dozen or more in her closet. Women can never have enough of bags.
Those who have money to spend are lucky because they can splurge their money on bags of all shapes, colors and sizes. However, for the budget conscious who are nevertheless smitten with bags, it is wise to decide which bag would fit an already existing wardrobe.
When buying bags, consider where it is going to be used so that you will not be easily swayed into buying any bag that catches your fancy. Ask yourself whether the bag will fit into your existing wardrobe. A wise dressed will always know how to mix and match her wardrobe with her bags, shoes and accessories to make her wardrobe more cost effective. Bags and shoes, when mixed and matched with different dressed, will give a new set of wardrobe to the wise dresser.
Be able to put a ceiling or a price range for your target bag so you will not be tempted into buying anything that costs more than you budget. Except of if the price is already a bargain and it can be mixed and matched to several clothing wear. This characteristic will of course make the price of the bag more cost effective in the long term.
Fashion victims would always look at magazines and follow the newest craze in bag designs and colors. Wise and elegant dressers will always go for the classic look. Going with a classic look will mean your bag will outlast the newest craze and it can be worn anywhere and anytime, for any occasion.
There are however a few rules that would have to be followed by a woman before buying a bag. A petite woman should avoid very big bags as this will tend to make her look more petite than she already is. Bags can also hide body imperfections so be sure to know which body parts you want understated before choosing a bag. If you want to avoid getting attention on your big hips then choose a shoulder bag. If you have big breasts or broad shoulders then a waste bag is for you.
Bags can come in all types like pouch bags, shoulder bags, tote bags, flap bags, evening bags and many others. It can also come in various materials like leather, satin, velvet, denim or nylon. There are as many bag designs and materials depending on the creativity of bag makers.
Bags are welcome gifts for every female. However, being able to buy the right bag for the right person can be difficult considering that each person has different tastes in bags. When doing this, it would be better to ask the person about her preferences in bags. If the person is close to you, then you would have more knowledge about her fashion style and occupation. This way, your gift would not end up at the bottom of her closet.

The Life of Luxury (green with envy)
It is always nice to see how the other half lives, take for instance there is the
Life of Luxury the George Hamilton way.
This is a TV show which looks at the lives of the Super Rich in which the first episode looks at the PlayBoy Mansion, a collection of multimillion dollar homes, hiphop halfbillion dollar empires and some queens of shopping.
Tom Delay’s Life of Luxury over the last six years
Public documents reviewed by The Associated Press document his 48 visits to golf clubs and resorts 100 flights aboard private company planes 200 stays at hotels, many worldclass and 500 meals at restaurants, some averaging nearly 200 for a dinner for two. Not all paid for by Tom Delay.
ARCHESTRATUS THE LIFE OF LUXURY
ARCHESTRATUS was a Sicilian Greek who wrote a poem that was an actual cookbook describing styles of Greek food in antiquity In travelling throughout the Greek world Greece, Southern Italy and Sicily, the coast of Asia Minor, the Black Sea Archestratus shows us how the ancient Greeks were extremely cosmopolitan. His influences ingredients, combinations of flavours, techniques are drawn from a wide Mediterranean background, taking in a diversity of ideas unrestricted by the topography of the Greek mainland.

The Robb Report features this Beverly Hills house. The owners, a retired industrialist and his wife, who is a trustee of Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, wanted the architect to maintain a simple palette that would not compete with their art collection, which includes a beautiful collection of contemporary art.
The Life of Luxury’s Most Expensive ZIP Codes
From Beverly Hills to TriBeCa, from notorious enclaves of mansions and lush lawns to littleknown niches of wealth, this is where the most expensive real estate in the country can be found.
Many of these neighborhoods are rarified places, of course. They are close to beaches and golf courses and prime yacht mooringsor at least within spitting distance of the power centers that are the sources of great wealth. they have high tax bases, expensive private schools, exclusive restaurants and they are not all located close to Rodeo Drive.
The Life of Luxury Some Expensive MustHave Items
We must be getting richer. Designer items are becoming more and more popular, we are no longer happy with a cheap watch but want an Omega or a Tag Heuer.
According to the Federal Reserve, the net wealth of American households hit a high at the end of last year, increasing from 46.59 trillion in the third quarter of 2004 to 48.53 trillion in the fourth quarter. Rising real estate and stock prices helped push the country’s household net worth up 4 between the third and fourth quarters. You can now buy a 67,000 handcrafted bathtub Luxury is no longer confined to the affluent. To enhance people’s lives they are willing to pay more for luxury items like expensive perfumes and designer handbags. Sometimes it’s hard to justify spending much more on an item when something considerably less expensive offers the same functionality.
You can, for instance, buy a watch for 10 and you can buy a watch for 20,000 that offers the exact same functionality so where is the rationale for buying the expensive watch? Still, the expensive watches get sold and people are proud to own them. The exclusive maker of mattresses for the British royal family will reject a container of cashmere if it is deemed to be clumpy or defective in any way, says the director for the American division. For each bed, workers cover thousands of springs in calico cotton the damask cases are handwoven in Belgium If you have to ask how much these mattresses cost you can’t afford them.
Life of Luxury living on your own Cruise Ship
The World is the only private luxury community at sea. It is a Cruise Ship built with apartments and studios for long term residency rather than vacation cruises.

With the exception of studios, which have more limited amenities, The World’s residential accommodations include fullyequipped kitchens, living room, veranda and all furniture and audiovideo equipment. Studios an Apartments can be had from 1.4 million to 4.8 million dollars and annual maintenance costs start at 100,000.

The passenger distribution is about 40 Americans, 40 Europeans and 20 from other nations. The price of a “home” on board the ship includes furniture, appliances, carpet, draperies, linen, china, cutlery and crystal. Maintenance charges will cover daily housekeeping service, repairs and replacement of appliances, fixtures and fittings supplied by the builder.

Bali is a small, beautiful island famed for its unique arts and cultures, enchanting nature and the friendliness of its people. Most people come to Bali to experience the marvelously rich cultural heritage some come for the beaches and the waves, others for pure relaxation. Bali is situated in Indonesia, one of the best tourist destinations in Asia.
For those who plan to visit Bali, I herewith write Ten Essential Tips for Bali Vacation for your consideration.
1. To enter Bali, or Indonesia for that matter, make sure your passport is valid for six months upon entry into Indonesia, otherwise youll find yourself on the next plan out. You also must have proof of onward passage (i.e. a ticket out of Indonesia). Tourist, social and business visas can be obtained from any Indonesian embassy or consulate abroad. Citizens from Asian countries comprising Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippine and Laos do not require a visa, only a valid travel document. Visitors from some thirty countries are also provided with a 60days tourist visa issued directly upon arrival. Consult your travel agent or airlines, mention your nationality.
2. Money matters The rupiah is the basic unit of money. Foreign currency, in bank notes and travelers checks is best exchanged at major banks or authorized money changers. Do change money at a reputable looking location, use your own (or the hotels calculator before changing), as the ones used by some places can be a little inaccurate. Most important always count your money before you leave the place. Travelers checks are accepted at all major hotels and large shops some smaller shops will also accept them. Passport number is required. Do not forget to take passport (or a photocopy of your ID), with you at all time.
3. When changing large amounts of money please check each note carefully as there are a number of (noticeably) fake bills in circulation.
4. There have been a few cases of handbags being snatched after one has cashed money at banks or money changers. Put your money away in your bumbag or hold onto your handbag tightly.
5. Credit cards and charge cards To day many hotels, shops large and small accept plastic, with the proviso that an additional 3 is added onto your bill. However, when traveling to the village, take rupiah with you. Keep small change handy when riding in public transports or buying drinks at warung.
6. Make sure you either have personal insurance or travel insurance that will cover in any accidents. If you rent a car (must be with insurance), beware of motorbikes, as there are too many on the road. When you park the car, always remember to remove all your properties. Crime is on the increase and can spoil your holiday. Be careful with your belongings at all times. Cases of handbag snatching have been reported, so leave important documents in your hotel safe (carry photocopies). Do not forget to look and listen while you cross the road. Cars may stops, motorbikes may not!
7. Going to Bali, dress casually. Take light clothes, as the weather is warmto hot throughout the year. Remember Bali is a land where prayer and religious festivals take center stage. When visiting a temple or attending ceremonies, make it a point to respect local customs and traditions. Always wear a sarong and sash. Do not walk in front of people praying. Do not use a flash camera or point your camera to the priests face. Do try not to step on offerings in the street (walk around them). Women are not allowed to enter temples during menstruation.
8. Do not drug! It can carry the death penalty, and there are enough foreigners residing in Bali courtesy of the Government prison service.
9. Do not swim outside designated swimming areas on the beach, currentundertows can be very strong. Swim between the red and yellow flags. Dont swim too far out. Do not leave your belongings unattended on the beach.
10. Health International health certificates of vaccination against smallpox, cholera, and yellow fever are required only from travelers comprising from infected areas. Typhoid and paratyphoid vaccinations are optional but still advisable. Drink only distilled or mineral water, or water that has been boiled and eat a lot of fresh fruit do your body a favor. Dont worry too much about ice, its a government quality controlled in established bars and restaurants. Most people traveling through Bali get the infamous “Bali Belly” at some time or other. Taking and Imodium will stop you up. At the first time of discomfort (diarrhea and cramping), drink strong, hot tea and avoid all fruits and spicy foods. Taking charcoal tablets will help alleviate the cramping.
Bali is worth a visit, plan your vacation, go on line and book your preferred Bali hotels or contact your travel agent. Thanks you readers.

Wondering what to pick for a man, looking out for men footwear, leather shoes can be a good option. Italian designers are among the best footwear designers in the world designing the highest quality men’s shoes, with the best style, comfort and fit. If you want the very best, there is only one way to go, that’s Italian!
Choosing a good quality men’s designer shoe in Australia can be easy when you know what to look for. This would include the grade of leather, available styles from designers and your own personal tastes along with your correct shoe size. Let’s begin by looking at leather grades.
Always pick up shoes based on what a person like, you need to specially consider it if you are gifting men footwear. Purchasing a pair of formal leather shoes for someone who is more into sports is not wise. If your man prefers rubber shoes, then go ahead and buy rubber shoes. Just because it is not shiny and formal does not mean that it is not stylish and classy. For high performance men’s outdoor footwear choose from the top brands in Australia like Meindl, Scarpa, Merrell, Keen, TNF, Karrimor and Berghaus. You can find such international brands in Australia too.
Men footwear in Australia find the right one for you!
You can find men’s fabric walking boot which can offer you perfect balance between light weight, durability and waterproofbreathability. Dont just go by its style, consider the comfort and durability factor too. Men, usually dont go by the style or designer style of footwear. They are either sport shoe lovers or of the leather footwear lovers. Learn about varied brands that you can choose from. Blucher oxfords are open laced leather dress shoes which have the sides of the shoe sewn on the front part (the top to be exact). Balmoral leather oxfords are close laced shoes in which the laces are sewn in a very unique way under the front part of the oxford and then the laces close over the tongue. The end result is a smooth, streamlined shoe that has the appearance of being constructed from only one piece of leather.
Men footwear such as Business shoes are most often made of leather. Leather lovers prefer such formal or business shoes. Some include a separate piece of leather that is to be found on the toe of the shoe (or the “cap toe”). Sometimes this piece of leather is plain and other times it is decorated with leather embroidery. Choose the right one, by reading more online.

Congratulations you have a new baby! Having a new baby is hard enough but when you choose to breastfeed you sometimes feel that you made this experience even harder. Breastfeeding is not as difficult as it looks or as you may have heard from others. It is actually pretty easy and a very fulfilling way to nourish your newborn once you get the hang of it. Remember as with most things practice makes perfect! Breastfeeding is new to you and to your little one but with a little practice you two will become pros in no time!
During the first week of your babys life, your breasts will produce colostrum for your baby to drink. Colostrum is rich in antibodies and aids the babys immune system. It also helps him pass his first bowel movement, which is called meconium. Meconium is black and tarry looking and is in the first few diapers after birth. Then he begins to transition to a brown substance and after your milk comes in, it becomes a yellow, mustardy stool that is loose and watery. Bottlefed babies pass firmer, tannish stools than breastfed babies.
After 2448 hours after birth, your baby will start having wet diapers that will increase to two or three a day.
Your technique and positioning is a very important factor in ensuring that your breastfeeding experience is a great one. There are a few different positions that can be used to make the experience more comfortable for you and baby. Some of these positions include
Laying down Lay down on you side with pillows behind you to support your back. Lay baby facing you with her head on a pillow your breast should be level with babys mouth. Bend your legs with a pillow between your knees and then have baby latch on.
Sitting Up Sit up either in bed or a comfortable chair or couch with pillows supporting your back and head. Place a pillow on your lap and put baby on top of the pillow in your arms, you can rest your arms on the pillow to make it easier to bring baby up to your breast. Bend your knees to make this even easier have baby latch on.
The Clutch Hold This is also known as the football hold. This position is also good when nursing twins as it allows mom to have a baby on each side. Sit down and tuck your baby under your arm almost like a handbag. Rest babys head on a firm pillow on your lap. Ensure that babys feet are behind your back. Your hand is at the back of babys neck, not on babys head. Your arm will extend down babys back , guide baby to latch on
These are just a few of the positions that you can use there is also the cradle hold, clutch hold, and the transition position. Do some research to learn these other positions to nurse your baby if you find the above positions uncomfortable.
While your baby drinks colostrum and then milk, you should listen for a pattern of suck, suck, suck, swallow. This pattern will be rhythmic and there should be no clicking noises. The clicking sound can indicate that your baby is not properly latched on and may not be getting enough milk from you. If you start to hear this, you need to unlatch him and then reattach him. If you continue to hear this sound after reattaching him several times, then you may want to consult a lactation consultant or your pediatrician.
After the first week of life, you should see 68 wet diapers each day and at least 3 bowel movements a day. His urine should be clear and he should become more alert with each passing day. Your baby should also be gaining weight and growing, as this is the surest way to tell that they are getting enough nutrition. If you have two days in a row that deviates from the above indicators, then you should call your pediatrician immediately.
Breastfeeding problems, such as milk production difficulties, are not as common when using the PDF feeding method, but they do occur. Even if you are well rested, eating healthy, have a pretty routine life, and your baby is growing and getting enough food, you still may experience a milk production issue. Many things can cause production problems. Here are just a few.
Some things that can affect your milk supply are
What mom eats
How much mom rests and sleeps
Her state of mind
The age of the mom
How many children you have
Your desire to breastfeed
Your nursing capabilities
Your nursing techniques
Babys latch on abilities
If you choose to breastfeed, it is very important that you take your baby for their checkups as needed. If you dont, how will you know if he is getting enough milk and growing at the correct rate? There is no way for you to tell that your child is getting enough nutrition for sure without your child being weighed.

Its never ending Jessica Simpson totes a Vuitton bag, Courtney Cox is seen in Instyle wearing a beautiful Prada dress, Hilary Swank heads down the runway wearing Calvin Klein. If thats not enough Paris Hilton arrives on the scene with Chanel sunglasses while Jennifer Lopez is seen with Fendi.
Whether its Versace, Chanel, Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Calvin Klein, Prada or Fendi, how the heck is the average woman going to be able to stay in style like the stars.
Lets face it. Although we dream about owning that beautiful Vuitton handbag or that Prada dress. For most of us thats about as far as it goes. Most of these items start in the mid hundreds of dollars and easily climb to a value of over 5000, for just one piece.
For the stars there is no worry about saving to buy those designer items. For them price is no object as they freely dole it out for what ever their heart desires.
But it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out most of us will never own these items. So what do we do? Well thats easy.
You and I buy items that look a lot like the designer items. Many call these knock offs and that they are but please realize there are licensed copies and then there are copies that infringe on copyrights.
We do not condone any company that infringes on copyrights. We do however encourage you to shop for items that made similar to the items we see the stars wearing. Its the only way we an look like a million bucks on our shoe string budgets.
As you flip through this months Vogue or Instyle you are going to see some wonderful fashions that you are just going to have to have for the fall. Dont worry within the next few weeks similar styles will be arriving at a boutique or Walmart near year. You can look as good as the stars for a fraction of the cost.
After all are your friends of coworkers going to notice your purse isnt quite the same shape or fabric. Are they going to notice that the dress has a slightly different cut neck or length. I think not. Youll be close enough for most to think youve suddenly got designer taste.
So what are you waiting for? Its going to be a hot fashion season and you are going to be a fashion goddess this season with some savvy shopping.
